PS: You know what I don't think I've heard Cohen's Hallelujah. I should though. The only other version I've heard is the one by John Cale which was featured on one episode of Scrubs. It was good but not a patch on Buckley's version.

I'm sure you will like Van Morrison. Since Astral Weeks can take some getting used to I'd suggest you start off with his Best Of collection. It is a nice overview of his best and most popular work.

And thank you. I'm flattered that you find this blog interesting enough to read regularly :)

Well that was quite a mouthful. :) I have listened to the live shows as well; Buckley has the same effect on me that Nirvana has. That track, 'Mojo Pin' always always manages to strike a chord every time I listen. And he's probably the only artist who's ever surpassed Leonard Cohen's version of 'Hallelujah'.

Thanks to your post, I've decided to give Van Morrison a shot. By the way, I've been a silent reader of your blog for a very long time now. I shall stop now; the risk of saying something that gives away my stunted intelligence looms. :)

Rohit: Well no, this list is about music that has had a major effect on me. I like Metallica but I'm not exactly a big fan.

PS: Ah yes, again not a major fan but I like Buckley. In fact I've almost all of his discography. If you like Grace you should check out his live shows as he is really good live. Has a terrific stage presence and his shows drip with energy and excitement. Once you listen to his live albums you might actually find Grace subdued and timid! I recommend his Live at the Sin-e album (or Live at L'Olympia for that matter). His version of Cohen's 'Hallelujah' still sends a shiver down my spine.

An album that I 'discovered' quite late but has become somewhat of an obsession for me was Jeff Buckley's Grace. You should check it out if you haven't already.
